In a bid to promote creative education, Idios Creatives will be introducing the maiden edition of
THE IDIOS SYMPOSIUM.
The idios Symposium is an annual conference extensively exploring the various genres of creativity
and ingenuity. The one-day event’s lineup of panelists will touch on a broad theme;
“BREATHING MY CREATIVE PROWESS TO LIFE, with sub ranging topics, from discovering
your talent and being in touch with your creativity to branding to creative
collaboration and creative thinking.
MEET OUR DISTINGUISHED PANELISTS
Majid Michel was born in a small city called Cantonments, in Accra, Ghana, the son of a Lebanese father and a Ghanaian mother. Following in the footsteps of his father, who is an Accra based actor, Michel ventured into the world of acting, very early in life.
This widely acclaimed Ghanaian Nigerian Actor is not new to winning awards in the field of acting, as he has a track record of being named best actor, starting from his secondary school to University acting days (where he was nicknamed “the king of acting”), up to the Africa Movie Academy Awards that he won in 2012.
Majid Michel has over 50 movies to his name. Some of the most popular of them are: Agony of Christ, Shakira, Save the Prince, Forgetting June, Knocking on Heaven’s Door, Being Mrs Elliot, 30 Days in Atlanta and, Road to Yesterday.
He is certainly a force to be reckoned with the Theatre industry and will be giving us insights on this creative genre.
Olawale Ashimi is better known as Brymo, is a Nigerian singer, songwriter, composer and author.
Olawale Ashimi was born and raised in Okokomaiko, Ojo, Lagos State; he is the only child of his parents.
Brymo was initially interested in playing football after graduating from secondary school. But in an interesting turn of events, he started to tilt towards music. In 2002, Brymo and some of his friends formed a group called The Aliens. Brymo became inspired to create music after listening to his mother singing fuji songs. Brymo gained admission into Lagos State University (LASU), where he studied zoology, but after his second year he left LASU to pursue a career in music.
It’s safe to say that Brymo and saw his music career coming, from a while away, because he started recording music in 1999 while still in secondary school. Brymo eventually signed a record deal with Chocolate City in 2010. And then signed an international distribution deal with Tate Music Group in 2015.
Brymo will be sharing, extensively, the art of music and breathing your musical prowess to life.
Nadine Ibrahim is a young Nigerian filmmaker who uses her passion for movies to tell powerful expository stories.
Nadine Ibrahim is one of our favourite filmmakers working today, and all her years of experience have clearly paid off, as seen in her acclaimed short film, Through Her Eyes.
The film featured a child suicide bomber, who was coerced to the job due to unfortunate incidents that happen in her community. “Through Her Eyes” was a favorite for many of us and was shown at a few premieres.
In the same vien, Nadine released a second feature “Tolu”, which tells the story of a young girl that lives with her family in a fishing community on the water in Lagos, Nigeria who tried to prove herself valuable to the community and break the gender stereotype.
Nadine is a recipient of THE FUTURE PRIZE FOR SCREEN PRODUCER 2018
Nadine will be sharing insights on the Art of Filmmaking, challenges and the process of start up.
Chidera Nneoma Okolie is a Nigerian writer who gained national attention when her debut novel When Silence Becomes Too Loud was endorsed in 2015 by then President of Nigeria Goodluck Jonathan. A Law graduate from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, Chidera published her first novel, When Silence Becomes Too Loud, in December 2014 while still a law student.
In September 2017, she released her second publication, Not Forgiven, a collection of short psychological thriller stories.
In June 2015, she was nominated for the African Achievers Awards and in 2016, she was named Fiction Writer of the Year and one of the 100 most influential Nigerian writers under 40 at the first Nigerian Writers Awards.
Chidera will be sharing insights on her Literary journey.
Edward Agbo-Madaki, AKA Eddie Madaki, is an indegene of Benue state, Nigeria, Idoma to be precise, a graduate of the University Of Jos, Nigeria from the department of Architecture, a seasoned vet in the Nigerian entertainment industry, and a voice to be reckoned with in the business and entrepreneurship world, Eddie Madaki, is both the man and the brand.
A publicist, marketing communications and new media strategist with over 10 years professional experience organizing successful socio-cultural events and product activations in Nigeria, Eddie is clearly the man who sells any and everything.
Having developed key networking skills, public relations, sales and public speaking training, he has adopted the highest level of professionalism and organizational skills required for branding.
Eddie will be sharing insights on how to brand and sell your creativity.
Ezinne is a Practicing Lawyer and a Self Trained Fine Artist.
For as long as she can remember, she has been engaging in Practical Fine Arts and this has helped her develop her skills and attain expertise in the different aspects of the field.
With Mediums like Charcoal, Graphite, Acrylics, Watercolor Pencils, Colored Pencils, Oil Paints etc., she creates beautiful Arts that tell exciting life stories.
She is mostly engaged in Pencil Works, Abstract Paintings and Mural Installations.
She is a two-time awardee of the 54Artistry 200k Reward Initiative, 2015 and has received several other awards of recognition for the excellence of her Works and the founder of Zinn.Arts Gallery.
Ezinne will be sharing an insight or two about the world of visual arts using her personal experiences.
Annie Obilana is a vibrant young lady of the yoruba land with a flare for the media and the entertainment industry as a whole. A graduate of Media and Screen Cultures from the University of Hertfordshire and a former staff of the Barclays Bank in London, United Kingdom, she recently made the decision to return to her home country, Nigeria to explore and contribute to the world of Television and Media and follow her passion of hosting both on radio and television.
